Background
I started PocketClaw in late 2025 as a hardware experiment — could a $20 phone from 2015 host a real AI gateway? After 60+ field modifications, the answer was yes. The project pivoted in April 2026 when the writing turned out to matter more than the phone. The brand stayed.
Before PocketClaw, I worked across web infrastructure and developer tools. I've shipped production systems at small companies and bigger ones. I read documentation. I write things down. I run my own servers because it's how I learn.
What I write about
- Self-hosted AI agents — comparisons, audits, migrations
- Pocket AI — running AI on portable hardware
- Security for self-hosted infrastructure
- Hardware reviews focused on real-world workloads
- Edge AI deployment patterns
What I don't write about
- AI hype — too crowded, too noisy
- Hosted AI products (OpenAI Assistants etc.) — not my niche
- Generic developer-productivity content — covered well elsewhere
