The honest project diary: every meaningful change to PocketClaw since launch.

Fewer pages, each with a reason to exist

A CVE page is now offered to search engines only when it says more than NVD: verified affected and fixed versions, and either no versions at NVD yet, different ones, or one of our breakdowns. Every CVE page now says what NVD lists next to our versions. The rule is on the methodology page.

The glossary is one page of full definitions instead of 51 short ones. Three guides written as first-hand accounts that no data backed are withdrawn and redirect to the closest page. The provider notes no longer claim our own use or tests, and the disclosure page reads its partner links from the code. New contact and legal notice pages.

Calculators: cost-vs-API and hardware sizer

Two interactive tools live at /calculator. Plug in monthly token volumes and see the crossover month against three popular API providers.

The hardware sizer compares four kinds of host (Pi 5, Intel NUC 13, Mac Mini M4, GPU box) against a target tokens-per-second on a chosen model size, from estimates. SVG charts, no JS bundles in the megabytes.

Cmd-K search across the entire publication

Press Cmd K (or Ctrl K on Linux and Windows) anywhere on the site to fuzzy-search guides, agents, hardware, providers, CVEs, setups and glossary entries. Static index served from /api/search-index, lazy-loaded on first open. No analytics, no third-party search service.

Tag hub pages and per-slug OG images

Every tag we've attached to a guide now has a hub page at /tag/[slug] cross-cutting guides, agents, hardware and glossary entries. The tag index page shows a frequency-weighted cloud.

Per-slug OG images now exist for every agent, device, CVE, comparison and provider. Editorial palette (paper cream + ink + rust) preserved across all variants.

Three pillar articles, five new setup tutorials

Long-form additions to the guides corpus:

  • Raspberry Pi 5 for self-hosted AI over 90 days (withdrawn in October 2026: no log or measurement backed it)
  • Migrating from OpenAI Assistants to OpenClaw (withdrawn in October 2026, for the same reason)
  • GPU vs CPU for self-hosted AI inference

Five new tutorials shipped under /setup: Ollama on Mac Mini M4, Nginx reverse proxy, Docker Compose stack, document RAG on a €25 VPS, and others.

/llms.txt, /llms-full.txt, IndexNow, author schema

Tier S SEO improvements: /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt serve a complete markdown content map for AI crawlers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude). IndexNow API endpoint pings Bing, Yandex, Naver on every guide publish for instant indexing.

Person schema with knowsAbout/sameAs/jobTitle wired into every article byline. Article schema enriched with wordCount, timeRequired, articleSection, inLanguage. FAQPage on /faq, ItemList on every hub page, DefinedTermSet on the glossary.

8-language i18n shipped

Full multi-locale routing across 8 languages: English (default, no prefix), French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese. hreflang annotations across every static page. ~3,800 indexable URLs total.

Long-form articles remain English-only for now: translation quality bar is high; we'd rather not ship machine-translated longreads.

PocketClaw becomes a publication

The hardware project is on ice. PocketClaw is now an independent publication on self-hosted AI agents: guides, audits, migration playbooks. Same brand, sharper focus.

All 60+ original guides survive at /guides. /hacks/* URLs are 301-redirected: nothing on the open web breaks.

The full story: why we pivoted.

Light theme + new identity

Dropped the dark CRT theme for a lighter, more readable identity, mono headings, sans body, warm off-white surfaces, animated scan beam to keep the terminal vibe. Faster, calmer, easier on long reads.
