Came into force August 2025 with full enforcement starting August 2026. Self-hosted agents using foundation models are not directly regulated by the Act in most cases — the foundation model provider carries the obligations. High-risk deployments (critical infrastructure, employment screening, education, etc.) have additional obligations on the deployer.
