Verdict
NanoClaw on a fanless MacBook Air is a portable personal setup: agents run in Docker containers through Docker Desktop and Claude runs at Anthropic, so the laptop only hosts the containers. Trade-off: a laptop that sleeps or travels is not an always-on host for scheduled tasks. Until October 2026 this page called NanoClaw a macOS specialist; it runs the same way on Linux and WSL2.
Setup notes
Same as on the Mac mini: Docker Desktop, then git clone and bash nanoclaw.sh. If agents run scheduled tasks, keep the Mac awake while it is on power.
Performance
No measurement of ours. The Air has no fan, so sustained heavy load throttles; for battery life, see Apple's figures for your model.
What breaks
- Always-on hosting (laptop != server)
